Why are the MPs wearing heart badges today? | Herald Series

EAGLE-EYED viewers watching the news today will have spotted that all MPs are wearing heart-shaped badges. 

The tribute, marked by all the MPs, including those in the opposition is to mark an important date. 

The silver badges are to mark the 40th anniversary of Terry Higgins death. 

On July 4, 1982 he was one of the first peopel to die in the UK to an AIDs-related illness. Because of the bravery of his partner he was the first to be named. 

The badge is free and can be ordered from Terrance Higgins Trust. It aums to support those living with an impacted by HIV.
